Functioning as a Black girl in white spaces, also growing up often within these spaces you are in an odd position of feeling alone between two different ways of being. Blackness or Whiteness are more than just the colour your skin. They are cultural and assumed and different people regardless of race bring their own ideas and expectations. To be in the position to have your Blackness questioned yet, also proximity to whiteness similarly ridiculed a space full of contradictions.
